THE Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) says over 1 000 businesses were sanctioned in the last four months of last year for operating without point of sale (POS) machines.
This comes as the CPC, backed by law enforcement agents, launched a blitz last year against businesses, particularly fuel dealers, who were operating without POS machines, saying this violated the country’s laws.
CPC chairperson, Mthokozisi Nkosi yesterday, said there was a lot of unethical conduct by businesses across the country last year.
