THE 2024/25 Pfumvudza/ Intwasa summer cropping season preparations are underway with the government expecting 1,8 million hectares to be put under maize crop.
The plan comes on the backdrop of the El Nino 2023-24 summer season and the prediction of better rainfall this coming season.
Maize production is targeted to increase from about 635 000 tonnes for the last summer season to 2,7 million metric tonnes.
