THE State-owned Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) says it is engaging with the Local Government ministry to monitor the disbursement of funds to local authorities.
Speaking at Zinara annual general meeting in Harare yesterday, chief executive officer Nkosinathi Ncube said the authority required all local authorities to be transparent as they do not want to hold on to excess funds from unaudited councils.
“We need local authorities to be efficient on their part and we don’t want to hold on to the money meant for them because they would not have audited previous disbursements. We don’t want to be seen as a mini-Treasury, but to disburse funds as fast as we can, and we are working on that,” he said.
