ZESA has rubbished social media reports that it has awarded businessman Wicknell Chivayo a US$500 million plant tender.
This comes as last year the Intratrek Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd managing director succeeded in the damages claim for breach and repudiation of contract against Zimbabwe Power Company after a fully contested trial that lasted one month in September 2022.
According to the social media reports, Zesa allegedly awarded a US$500 million tender to Intratrek Zimbabwe Pvt Ltd for the installation of a new 200MW Mvuma Solar Power Plant in violation of the country’s procurement procedures.
