THE conference business is proving to be a major boon for the hospitality sector in Zimbabwe, driving significant revenue growth and prompting companies to invest in facility upgrades.
As the country gears up to host a series of national and international events, hotels are improving their conference centres and public areas to capitalise on the expanding market and meet surging demand.
African Sun, in its first-quarter trading report, attributed its robust revenue performance to a “higher demand for conferences during the quarter,” resulting in increased occupancy and average daily rates.
