FINANCIAL services group Old Mutual is leading the charge in formalising Zimbabwe’s informal businesses, recognizing their significant economic contribution.
“The view that we take is that there must be intervention to promote the informal market with whatever we have to offer and in whatever way they require,” said Lillian Mbayiwa, group-marketing executive at the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce annual congress.
“As we do so we are encouraging, small players and informal market to some extent have the bare minimum formalisation of their operations.”
