THE government has implored local authorities to put more efforts in addressing service delivery challenges by promoting coordinated development with the central government, stakeholders and citizens.
Speaking at the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe strategic plan review workshop in Bulawayo on Wednesday, minister of Local Government Daniel Garwe said improved service delivery was crucial.
“Although some progress has been made by some local authorities, namely Mutare and Bulawayo, the majority of local authorities are still struggling. Struggling either positively or struggling negatively,” said Garwe.
