AT LEAST 20 000 hectares are targeted in joint irrigation farming ventures across the country in the 2024/25 summer season.
Agriculture minister Anxious Masuka yesterday said that the country needed investors in agriculture to prop up the sector.
“There are going to be joint irrigation ventures on farms with dams. On 5 July 2024, there was a general notice which listed all farms across the country amounting to 20 000 hectares and President Emmerson Mnangagwa said we cannot continue facing hunger yet we have farms with sufficient water in dams which we are not utilising…”
