HCC bids to end CBD congestion

THE Harare City Council (HCC) has embarked on an operation to enforce its by-laws in a bid to end the traffic congestion that has become a menace in the capital.

HCC town clerk Phakamile Mabhena Moyo attributed the Central Business District (CBD) congestion to conventional and commuter omnibuses that pick and drop passengers at undesignated points.

“There has been an increase in congestion levels on the streets of Harare especially during the morning and evening peak periods…”
