PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing non-tariff barriers that impede trade.
Non-tariff barriers, which are regulatory measures that can be as restrictive as tariffs, often take the form of technical standards, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and complex customs procedures.
These barriers can significantly increase the cost of doing business and limit market access for exporters. Addressing the annual ZimTrade Exporters Conference, recently the President emphasised the need to facilitate cross-border commerce.
