Zimbabwe mulls sustainable aviation fuels plant

ZIMBABWE is considering setting up a Sustainable Aviation Fuels plant at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport that will serve as a regional hub for the production and supply of sustainable aviation fuel.

SAF is a biofuel used to power aircraft that has similar properties to conventional jet fuel, but with a smaller carbon footprint.

A feasibility study conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organisation  last year identified Zimbabwe as one of the countries with potential for sustainable aviation fuel production
