THE African Development Bank (AfDB) is updating feasibility studies for a project to develop new power transmission facilities across the Sadc region.
The project, which is envisioned to cover Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia, will entail financing, constructing, and operating the proposed facilities.
In 2007, the electricity utilities of the four nations signed an Inter-Utility Memorandum to establish the ‘ZIZABONA’ transmission network.
