Japan supports local climate-resilient farming

THE government of Japan has pledged $5 million to a project aimed at improving the livelihoods of Zimbabwean smallholder farmers by promoting climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural practices.

The initiative, officially titled The Project for Livelihoods Support for Smallholder Farmers through Enhancing Resilience to Climate Change and Sustainable Agriculture, is a collaborative effort between the World Food Programme (WFP) and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development.
