NATIONAL carrier Air Zimbabwe says its shareholder, Mutapa Investment Fund (MIF) has committed to assist in the expansion of its aircraft fleet as part of ongoing efforts to turn around its fortunes under new management.

MIF, which is Zimbabwe’s sovereign wealth fund, manages a diverse portfolio of over 65 entities across sectors such as energy, transport, mining, banking, telecommunications, and agriculture.

The planned aircraft acquisition is part of a reconstruction effort following years of maladministration by previous managements, debt accumulation and depletion of the fleet.
