BARLOWORLD Zimbabwe (Barloworld) the distributor of Caterpillar (CAT) construction equipment has opened a rental facility in an effort to expand market reach following its termination of a distribution agreement with Zimplow’s now defunct unit, Barzem.
Barloworld UK ― the holding company ― took a “strategic decision to remove itself” from a 70-year partnership with Barzem in 2022 motivated by a desire to protect shareholder value.
This paved the way for the establishment of Barloworld Zimbabwe, a new entity with sole distributorship of Caterpillar equipment in the country.
