SMALL-SCALE miners are this year targeting to increase gold production and deliveries to the Fidelity Gold Refinery (FGR) to 40 tonnes from a record 36.48 tonnes produced last year.
This comes as last year’s production marked a 21 percent increase compared to 2023, figures released by the FGR last week show.
According to the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF), which represents artisanal miners, small-scale and medium-scale miners contribute 60 percent of the total gold production in the country.
