Zera reviews LP gas prices downwards

THE Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has reviewed the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) downwards both in foreign and local currencies.

This comes as prices of gas have been reviewed twice last month whereas the minister of Finance, Mthuli Ncube, in his 2025 budget exempted it from Value Added Tax (VAT) to mitigate the rising costs.

It also comes as many Zimbabweans are now resorting to using gas amid a gruelling electricity load shedding schedule lasting up to 15 hours daily owing to reduced power generation in the country occasioned by various factors, chief among them, low water levels at the Kariba Hydro Power Station.
