GOVERNMENT has expressed concerns over the proliferation of fuel stations near residential areas, posing a threat to human lives.
Giving oral evidence before the parliamentary portfolio committee on Energy in Parliament yesterday, the permanent secretary in the ministry of Energy, Gloria Magombo, said authorities were investigating whether the issuance of licences was done above board.
“The issue of fuel service stations has also been of concern to us, and we have engaged the ministry of Local Government to look into this matter…,” Magombo said.
