AUTHORITIES say the country is prepared for this year’s summer maize crop harvesting season set to start next month.

This year’s target harvest of the maize crop is 2,7 million metric tonnes, against a harvest of 1,1 million metric tonnes in 2024.

In an interview yesterday, the ministry of Agriculture’s Engineering Department deputy director, Harrison Bhasikoro, said the government had secured enough combine harvesters to meet the expected harvesting demands.
