ECOCASH Holdings Zimbabwe (EcoCash) says its mobile money business continues to see an upward trend in growth on its US dollar wallet services.
The fintech group introduced the US dollar wallet in 2022 with easy access to EcoCash customers.
The group said customer activity surged significantly during the third quarter ended. This comes as EcoCash said it consolidated its gains during the same period as it continued to “innovate, navigating various macro-economic changes and seizing opportunities to maintain its upturn in business performance.”
“Transaction volumes experienced a six-fold increase, on the back of increased wallet funding. The strategic emphasis on expanding the mobile money distribution network is proving successful and has resulted in improved accessibility for our customers as the footprint has increased by 29 percent since last quarter,” EcoCash said. Third quarter revenue grew by 82 percent as compared to Q3, FY23.
