BAT Zimbabwe is making steady inroads in distributing its newly introduced electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) into the local market, expected to bolster the group revenue following depressed volumes of traditional cigarette sticks, during the year’s end of December 31, 2023.

The group stated that the total volume for the period under review declined by five percent, from 1 054 million sticks reported in the same period last year, to 1 003 million sticks due to a challenging operating environment.

Export volumes of cut rag tobacco decreased to 282 940 kgs, a 32 percent decline during the period under review compared to prior year.
