THE Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has said it is illegal to use coupons as change in transactions. Speaking to public transporters in Harare yesterday, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, John Mushayavanhu, also reiterated that the country had enough notes and coins in circulation for the needs of the nation.
Mushayavanhu also blamed some banks once again for allegedly hoarding the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) — thereby limiting its availability in the market.
“I have a schedule which shows that every bank in this country and every branch in this country has got ZiG1, ZiG2, ZiG5, ZiG 10 and ZiG20 as of Friday last week…”
