THE sharp increase in Zimbabwe’s inflation for the month of January has rattled businesses and consumers with economic experts predicting more of the same in the months to come driven by a confluence of factors, chief among them, exchange rate pressures.
Weighted month-on-month inflation for January 2025 accelerated by 11,6 percent – the fastest in over 15 months, mainly driven by food and non-alcoholic beverages followed by housing, electricity, water and gas.
