THE government says the upgrading of the Deka power project, which was funded by the Indian Exim Bank to the tune of US$48.1 million, will enhance power generation of units 7 and 8 at the Hwange Thermal Power Station.
The upgrading of the water plant would result in the enhancement of power generation of units 7 and 8 currently producing 600 megawatts. Speaking at the commissioning of the project yesterday, Energy minister Edgar Moyo said the upgrade would also enhance economic development in the country.
