MAJOR South African low cost carrier FlySafair has become the latest regional airline to join the busy Johannesburg-Harare route after making its inaugural flight on Monday.
This comes as the airline also launched its Johannesburg-Victoria Falls flight yesterday, becoming the second new South African airline on the route in four months after CemAir.
“This airline will offer travellers its signature low-cost model on regional routes. Let me highlight the positive impact of low-cost airlines on the aviation industry, instead of competing with traditional carriers, low-cost carriers help grow the market by attracting non-fliers and tapping into new customer segments,” Transport and infrastructural development minister Felix Mhona said as he officially launched the Johannesburg-Harare flights, the carrier’s only regional daily frequency.
