THE Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has received US$13 million and ZIG115 million from the government to pay winter wheat farmers who delivered their crop to the State entity this year.
In an interview yesterday, GMB chief executive, Edson Badarai, said the government was keen to clear all debts of wheat delivered by farmers.
“The board appreciates farmers who continue to deliver to the GMB, as well as the government through the Treasury for release of the much needed financial resources for farmers. “Treasury has committed to raise additional funds for farmers. ‘‘As the country spearheads wheat-based food security, farmers are encouraged to continue delivering wheat to GMB.
