THE government has warned citizens against illegally harvesting trees, saying they should stop henceforth the practice or risk facing stiffer penalties.
This comes as the government launched a blitz against illegal wood cutting and logging to shield the country’s natural resources from deforestation.
The crackdown, announced last week, comes in response to rising concerns over deforestation and its impact on biodiversity and climate change.
