CEMENT producer Khayah Cement says it has revised its business model to mainly focusing on grinding outsourced clinker following a decision to mothball its kiln that was three years overdue for its shutdown maintenance.
Clinker is a nodular material produced in the kilning stage during the production of cement and is used as the binder in many cement products.
The kiln is a thermally insulated chamber, a type of oven, that produces temperatures sufficient to complete some process, such as hardening, drying, or chemical changes.
