THE Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) has conducted the first natural air cured Turkish tobacco sales in Mangwe, Matabeleland South Province, since 1962.
This comes as Kutsaga, formerly Tobacco Research Board, has introduced four climate smart tobacco varieties for introduction in areas that have not been growing the golden leaf mainly due to climatic issues.
According to the TIMB, Mangwe last sold tobacco when the country was still Rhodesia.
