ZIMBABWE’S milk production rose by 15 percent to 114,69 million litres in 2024 from 99,82 million litres in 2023, but it fell 300 560 litres short of the target for the year amid a challenging operating environment.

National milk production target for 2024 was 115 million litres. This growth stems from expanding dairy herds and strategic investments across the sector, even as challenges persist.

The country’s dairy industry experienced a resurgence, with August 2024 marking a record monthly high of 10,15 million litres, the highest output in seven years.
