THE Mine Rescue Association of Zimbabwe (MRAZ), an affiliate of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe has expressed concern over the high frequency of mine disaster incidents in the Penhalonga area, in Manicaland province mainly involving small scale and illegal miners.
MRAZ coordinates mine rescue activities in the country through mine rescue working party and has structures in the North Zone (Trojan Mine, Redwing Mine), Central Zone (ZIMPLATS Ngezi, ZIMASCO Shurugwi), South Zone (Renco Mine, Gaths Mine, Mimosa Mine) and West Zone (Hwange Colliery 1, Hwange Colliery 2, How Mine).
