SPEAKER of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda says plans are underway to establish a parliamentary portfolio committee that will play an oversight role on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the country.
Speaking during the ongoing Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday, Mudenda said the country had done well in harnessing the revolution of AI. ‘
’The Parliament of Zimbabwe plans to create a Committee of the Future to catalyse the use of Science, Technology and Innovation, AI driven technologies over the next 50 years to maximise benefits for the nation.”
