THE Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) yesterday issued a warning to impersonators who are using social media to con unsuspecting citizens.
In a statement, Potraz director general Gift Machengete said foreign registered phone numbers were being used on WhatsApp to steal from people.
“Potraz in its capacity as the designated data protection authority of Zimbabwe, in line with the Cyber and Data Protection Act, has noted with great concern the increase in cybercrimes perpetrated through social media.
