SMALL-scale miners are playing a crucial role in boosting Zimbabwe’s gold deliveries to Fidelity Gold Refinery, significantly contributing to the country’s gold revenue in 2024.
Last year, they accounted for approximately 60 percent of gold delivered to the refinery. At a recent gold mobilisation workshop, Mines minister Winston Chitando acknowledged the leading role of small-scale miners in the nation’s gold delivery statistics. “Small-scale miners are leading in gold deliveries,” Chitando noted.
