ZIMBABWE Stock Exchange-listed diversified company, TSL has developed new animal healthcare products as it moves to diversify its product offerings.
Local retailers have traditionally relied on external suppliers for procurement of animal healthcare products. The localisation of production of these commodities presents a potentially lucrative business for the company.
“We have started manufacturing animal health remedies and building a new plant that will be ready next quarter. The idea is that we are able to produce products by enhancing our research and development capabilities,” TSL chief executive Derek Odoteye said recently.
Previously, there have been shortages of dipping chemicals in the country owing to foreign currency challenges to import which often created hurdles for the growth of the national herd.
