ANGLO American Platinum says platinum group metals (PGMs) production at its Zimbabwean unit, Unki mine remained unchanged at 62 800 ounces during the first quarter 2024 compared to the same period last year.
However, production was two percent above the previous quarter of 61 800 ounces.
The average Q1 2024 realised basket price of US$1,483/PGM ounce was 30 percent (or 26 percent in ZAR terms) lower than Q1 2023, predominantly due to a 61 percent lower rhodium price and 38 percent lower palladium price.
