BRICK manufacturing company, Willdale Limited, took advantage of the drought situation to ramp up brick production which is traditionally low during the wet season.
The rainy season naturally comes with heavy disruptions for the company as most bricks are susceptible to excess moisture.
The brick maker has previously stated that it intends to purchase a new US$3 million machine that is all weather friendly. The current one dries bricks in the sun, meaning it must shut down for three months every year, during peak rainy season from December to February.
