GOVERNMENT has extended the winter wheat planting season by two weeks with an intention to meet its 120 000 hectares target this season.
Permanent secretary of Lands ministry Obert Jiri yesterday said that they had extended the wheat planting season so that every farmer would be able to plant.
“We encourage farmers to immediately continue to plant wheat, but we will cut off the planting period by the 14th of June. So, no planting will be done after the 14th of June.
