ZESA is now owed a staggering US$400 million by its customers which is exacerbating the country’s energy crisis.
Among those who owe the under-pressure power utility these huge sums are government departments, local authorities, businesses, farmers and ordinary consumers.
Addressing the media in Harare on Monday, Zesa managing director, Abel Gurupira, said this was negatively affecting Zesa’s ability to keep the lights on in the country.
