Zimbabwe leverages insurance to mitigate climate change risks

THE government is finalising the ratification of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Treaty in response to persistent poor agricultural seasons due to climate change.

The development is part of the proactive measures the government is taking to mitigate the impact of climate change on the agricultural sector.

The 2025 national budget says the move will enable the country to proactively plan, prepare, and respond to natural disasters through sovereign risk insurance.
