AIRPORTS Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) is currently discussing with potential partners to implement fuel hydrants at its airports. Hydrant systems deliver fuel directly to aircraft parked on the apron via underground pipelines, eliminating the need for fuel tankers.

This approach streamlines the refuelling process and minimises disruptions on airport runways and roads.

Speaking at the inaugural annual general meeting, ACZ chief executive, Tawanda Guzha, said ACZ had plans to implement fuel hydrants, starting with the Robert Mugabe International Airport.
