AfDB revises Zim growth outlook

THE African Development Bank (AfDB) has revised its gross domestic product (GDP) growth projection for Zimbabwe in 2024 to a slower two percent, down from the 3,2 percent it predicted at the beginning of the year.

This drop is attributed to El Niño-induced low agricultural output and unstable international commodity prices, which threaten to weaken the mining sector.
Zimbabwe recently declared a national drought disaster, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying the country needs $2 billion in aid to address widespread hunger.
