THE trial of seven former Harare City Council’s finance’s committee members, including ex-Harare mayor Ian Makone, who are accused of illegally acquiring commercial stands, commenced yesterday at the Harare Magistrates Court.
Appearing before magistrate Donald Ndirowei, Kennedy Chikandamina, a State witness, told the court that he received an order from town clerk Hosiah Chisango in 2022 to allocate the stands to the committee members, who were also councillors, without following proper procedures.
