ZIMBABWE’S digital payments transactions fell by nine percent to ZiG162,46 billion in February 2025, from ZiG178,79 billion in January this year, latest figures show.

Volumes followed suit, declining by six percent to 53,57 million transactions, a trend that may signal subdued economic activity or weakening consumer and business confidence.

The National Payments System plays a vital role in facilitating economic transactions in Zimbabwe, serving as the backbone of monetary and financial activities.
