Economist differs sharply with RBZ

PROMINENT economist, Eddie Cross, has once again urged authorities to do more to shore up the ZiG and the country’s economy.

In the same vein, the former member of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s (RBZ) monetary policy committee reiterated this week that the current efforts by the apex bank to stabilise the local currency, as well as the prices of basic goods had little chance of bearing fruit.

“If you stay your (current) course Mr Governor (RBZ boss John Mushayavanhu), your new currency is doomed, and more quickly than you think…”
