Ex-deputy minister Matonga arrested

THE police yesterday confirmed the arrest of former Information deputy minister Bright Matonga for alleged theft after a Chegutu magistrate had granted a warrant of arrest.

Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest in a statement and said more details would be released soon.

“The police confirm that Bright Matonga has been arrested in Chegutu in connection with two reports of theft made by farmers who were leasing his farm. “A warrant of arrest was duly issued by the courts. More details will be released in due course,” Nyathi said.
