FIDELITY Gold Refinery (FGR) is developing a gold mine-to-market tracking system that utilises digital technologies, including blockchain, to establish a secure and transparent record of the gold supply chain.
This initiative aims to reduce exploitation and illegal trade practices within the market.
FGR general manager Peter Magaramombe explained that the system would empower artisanal miners by ensuring fair prices and improved payment cycles.
