ZIMBABWE has recorded an increase in gold production in the second quarter of 2024 driven by surging prices and availability of inexpensive mining equipment.

According to the Zimbabwe Statistics Agency, production was up 23,9 percent during the quarter and 3,9 percent higher than the same period last year. Junior Chamber of Mines secretary-general Dosman Mangisi said the surging gold prices boosted gold production in the period under review.
