AUTHORITIES have given a legal effect to the measures which were introduced recently by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) whereby one is permitted to leave the country with only US$2 000 in cash.

This comes after the RBZ reduced the amount of US dollars travellers can take out of the country from US$10 000 to $2 000 per individual.

In a Statutory Instrument published in an extraordinary Government Gazette yesterday, Finance minister Mthuli Ncube said the new effect would also apply when one wants to leave the country with local currency or other foreign currencies.
