THE government has given out 6 000 tablets to extension officers across the country to enable them to keep a database for farmers in their various wards for transparent distribution of inputs.
This comes amid concerns that government inputs were benefiting some individuals who were not even farmers and residing in urban areas.
Speaking during the handover of the tablets in Mutare recently, the permanent secretary for the ministry of Agriculture, Obert Jiri, said the initiative would curb corruption.
